Perfect Pancake Maker by Debbie Mascot
Marc and I have pet peeve commercials. I don't know if other people have these or not, but his is for the Carl's Jr. commercials where they eat really messy and drool and stuff. Mine is for the Perfect Pancake Maker.
I really, really hate that commercial. I am one of the world's worst cooks and yet this commercial astounds even me. They show these morons making pancakes in a "regular" pan. They show the pancake simmering in vats of oil, while the narrator discusses making regular pancakes without their gadget is greasy. I have been known to make regular pancakes. I do not deep-fry them in lukewarm oil. Ever.
Then they show idiots flipping the pancake with a spatula. To me, it looks like they deliberately flip it so that it ends up half on the pan and half on the stovetop. Then they wave their hands in the air like it's the end of the world. Remember; I've before confessed to not being among the most dexterous of individuals. But, again, this has never happened to me. I have never flipped a pancake and had it end up on the stove. On another pancake, yes, but never on the stove.
Then they show them using the Perfect Pancake Maker to make eggs. You don't have to flip the eggs to make them over easy. You flip the pan.
I like broken yolk and scrambled eggs, so this is just stupid.
All of it's stupid and I hate the darn Perfect Pancake Maker. A lot.
