Witches Stand by Debbie Mascot

I am irritated by the whole Pledge of Allegiance thing. Clearly, the Constitution says that we shouldn't say, "God" in a public (aka governmentally-funded) school.

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof;…"

Kids don't even know what they are saying, anyway. I was in high school before I realized that "for witches stand" didn't make sense. Then I looked up the words and realized I had almost all of it wrong.

I pledge of alleges to the Flag
Of the United States of America.
And to the public of witches stand.
One nation under God invisible.
With liberty and justice for all.

So leave off the darn God part and stop your whining and wasting of my time. Just because something is TECHNICALLY not allowed, doesn't mean hissy fits should be raised about it. These complainers are the same people who condemn the courts for letting off criminals on technicalities. I just know it.

I say we change the Bill of Rights (again) to read:

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof, EXCEPT WHEN IT COMES TO SILLY SONGS AND PLEDGES AND THINGS WHERE THE USE OF THE WORD, 'GOD'WLL BE OKAY AND ANYONE CHALLENGING THIS WILL BE SENT TO AN ISLAND WITH THE REST OF THE NITPICKERS OF THE WORLD."

or as Dennis Miller said,

"Or why don't we just change the phrase to "One nation under a crushing blanket of overly sensitive political correctness?"

I feel much better after saying that. It's been bugging me.
