Routines by Debbie Mascot
Morning routine. The alarm goes off and I don't get up. It's just a suggested time, anyway. It's not like that clock is set to the real time or anything. Eventually I get up and I go to the bathroom with my baby kitty who isn't a baby anymore but thinks he is. This is the cat that Katie likes to come "look at," Jack.
So Jack and I play in the bathroom for awhile and then we go make coffee. The other two cats join us in the kitchen for Kitty Milk (it's soy or something- we buy it in the pet food dept). Only one drinks it right away, as the other two are too busy trying to figure out if the coffee is tastier. It's not. They drink their milk.
Once the coffee is brewing and the kitties are done with getting doted over, I take my bath (Jack sometimes joins me and then Jones thinks maybe Jack's getting food, so he sniffs around for a bit, too). Then I put jammies back on (or grab a fresh pair- and yes I do have some flannel and yes I do have the dress kind, but they twist and bunch and aren't cozy to sleep in for me or sit Indian-style on my office chair in) and go grab a cuppa joe. Then I go to my room. Some people think I change back into pjs in wishful thinking that I get to stay home. I don't actually ever hope to have to stay home, because I actually really like my job. So the pj thing is mostly just so that I don't have to get (much) cat hair on work clothes, as throughout the whole rest of the time, there are cats trading places on my lap.
I leisurely drink coffee and read email and check for orders and look up genealogy for others and myself, surf the web, read the online books, etc. While doing this, I wash my face, put on my makeup, brush my hair and pretty much get ready for work. When it's time to go, I just shut down the puter and get dressed. Marc wakes up somewhere during the routine and we have our morning conversation that is usually something about why is it that HE always steps in the cat hurl/poop, whilst I manage to never even notice it.
Then I drive to work.
That's my morning.
