Praying
I went to a baby carrier class yesterday and learned so much. I'm going to make a wrap and I just ordered a mei tai. Will was a trouper all afternoon, getting in and out of carriers while I decided what I liked best. This place is so cool- a total natural, hippy kind of place, but it has a ton of stuff that I currently use, but have to order online. So even though it's a bit of a trek out there to Lafayette, it's cheaper than shipping and also allowed me to see a bunch of things that I've only read about. They also do classes, which is more than cool. This weekend we are taking a baby signs class there. I'm excited to learn how, as I think it will be a cool novelty when Will gets bigger.
And now for today's Signa-ism:
We had dinner with Signa's friend, Bethany, and her family last night. As I began to eat, I felt these tiny eyes on me. I looked to my right and there is Bethany, hands folded, staring at me. "Oh!" I say. "You want to say a prayer. Ooooo-kay." And I folded my hands, too.
She says that she wants me to do it and I explain that I really don't have a clue how so she'll need to do it for me. Then she says she wants us all to hold hands, which we do. I hold her hand and Marc's. Marc also holds Signa's and Signa's got Bethany's momma and Bethany's momma has Bethany, too. All in a circle holding hands.
Beth then says she wants Signa to do it. We begin to explain that Signa doesn't know how and I see Signa go from confused to being very sure of herself. Then I hear, in a confident strong voice from my girl, "Ring around the rosies, pocket full of posies. Ashes ashes all fall down."
Amen.
