Good Guys/Bad Guys
So I found some time to be more detailed. First, the baby swing broke. Will likely would only use it for another few months anyway, but the thought of not having us makes us have the sweats... it's the only place he'll sleep during the day. So I went to some consignment shops and Goodwills and found nothing. A trip to Babies R Us was a jackpot, though. There was a floor model for 1/2 price ($50). Awesome. Sometimes it pays to not go second hand.
Like I said, Signa's birthday was fun. We had lunch and then bowling and then cake. For lunch, Signa made sandwiches cut into pretty shapes, a fruit salad, a green salad and some onion dip. Signa had chosen a bug and frog birthday, so we ordered an un-decorated (just white frosting) cake and she put plastic bugs and frogs all over it. She also picked out all the stuff for the goodie bags and then put them together for everyone. Even Baby Will got a bag. She made cookies and spelled out the names for each (I did the writing, but she did the spelling). She had a great time bowling and sadly, did almost as well score-wise as I did. There is something to be said for bumpers...
Sunday we had lunch with some old friends of the family (Walt and Elide) and then Monday, her actual birthday, we had the neighbors all over for cake. Our house was just filled with these people and as I looked around I realized that I have a village raising my children and that is awesome.
The next day she had her check up and she's 32 lbs and I forget how tall. I can't find the paper, either. I hope I didn't toss it... Anyway, she is fine. She had 2 shots and a finger prick. But the thing that she hated the most was peeing in a cup. You would have thought they asked her to drink it. But all is well and it's over and done with for now.
Some other events have included Signa calling Marc a "douchebag" (Marc calls people that on the road- or used to until Signa said it). She also started this hiding thing. She'll mess with something she's not supposed to and when it breaks she hides it and then acts so guilty that shows us without even talking- just this giant frown. The latest was the mobile that hangs on the baby swing. It's giant and I walked in and she's stuffing it under a blanket on the couch. Totally obvious. SO we had to have a talk about how hiding it is like lying and will get her in more trouble than anything else.
And today's Signa-ism:
At Walmart the other day, Signa found a pitch fork to play with. "What's this for, Daddy?" Marc explained that it goes with a Devil costume and the devil uses it to poke the bad guys with. "So then the devil is a good guy?"
Explain that. Go 'head. Just try.

Too Long. And a tooth!
Wow. Has it really been that long? I guess I will have to do a quick re-cap. Signa's birthday was fun. On Saturday we went bowling and had lunch. Then on her actual birthday, our neighbors came over for cake. For the bowling party, it was just Austin and Nana and Gramma. We had a great bug/frog party ("I want a little bit of bug stuff and a little bit of frog stuff") and Signa bowled almost better than me.
Since then, she has become super cute. Oh. Wait. She's ALWAYS been super cute. She's just such a sweet girl and so darned funny.
Will is working on teeth now and sitting up. He's mastered rolling over and even barrel rolling across the room now and then. He inch worms on the rug, too, which is scary. He's already more mobile than Signa was at age 1. He cut one tooth just today. It's so barely out that I'm sure it will go back in for a day or so, but it was out. I tried to get pictures, but we'll see if they came out.
I know there is a ton more. She had her 4-year doctor appointment and (surprise surprise) she's perfectly healthy. I had a week in Sacramento and Marc and the kids ("kids" is still weird for me to say) came for a couple days. We had a visit from Grampa and we are getting ready for a Disneyland trip. I've been working really, really hard lately and it's leaving no downtime. I am, though, going to try to keep up better in here. Sorry about that.
More when I can.
Today's Signa-ism:
From her birthday. Opening a card from Great Grampa, she spied the $20 bill he put in there. She picked it up and with a wide face said, "WOW! Two moneys and a zero!"
