Did November Even Happen?
Where did November go? I just wonder sometimes if God or who/whatever doesn't mess with my head by changing the calendar really fast. So to do a quick update, the kids are doing great. Signa is a funny 5-year-old and William is a funny 1-1/2- year-old. Both are in perfect health and doing perfectly. Signa is full on in Kindergarten (at home) and doing fantastic. I accidentally gave her a first grade math text and she did it all without issue. Well, except for her mom not being able to read the first page where it said FIRST GRADE. Marc's been concentrating on writing and it's totally paid off, as she's a million times better than she was just 2 months ago. Her math and reading have always been great, so this just solidifies the whole thing.
She has a playgroup on Monday, a group history class on Tuesdays (they do awesome projects like make lapbooks and make mummies), a playgroup on Tuesday afternoons, and gymnastics on Thursdays. We dropped dance class, because it was expensive AND the new teacher just wasn't cutting it for us. We miss the parents from all the other years of dance, but they all (but one) dropped it this year, too.
Signa is due for a check-up and shots, but we are switching to a new doctor and I have been dreading picking up her records at the WORST DOCTOR IN THE WORLD'S office. But I'm doing that today and just getting it over with. Will goes to a different doctor that we don't love, but isn't the WORST DOCTOR IN THE WORLD so I don't dread going there for her last year records (she hasn't been to the doc since her last well-check visit).
For Halloween, Signa was The Flash. She was so cute in her little red costume darting around "super fast". All the dad's at our downtown event were glaring at us jealously for having a girl that WASN'T a Disney princess. William was Superman. And he somehow osmosised the data that Superman flies around going "Wishhhhhhhhhh", as he did that all over the place when wearing the cape.
He is also talking like a crazy man. All the time- chatter chatter chatter. We understand about every third word, but it's enough to figure out what he's thinking most of the time. He tells knock knock jokes a lot. It's a bit weird since it goes:
Will: Knock knock!
You: Who's there?
Will: Knock knock!
You: Who's there?
Will: Knock knock!
You: Who's there?
Will: Weeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!
Then he laughs. So it's not really a knock knock joke PERSAY, but he does make it sound like it's going to be.
The other night at the dinner table, he got very excitable in his chatter. "Bob bob! Bob bob [chatter chatter] boon! Bob bob boon [chatter chatter] sky!" He pointed up at the ceiling in the corner and over at the television. Then he repeated it all over and over and has been ever since. We know that "Bob Bob" is SpongeBob. "Boon" is usually balloon. Then pointing up at the sky and at the television makes us wonder if he saw a SpongeBob Thanksgiving Day parade balloon, but I don't think there was one this year. The only other thing it could be is a SpongeBob balloon that he saw somewhere. I know we had one for Signa's birthday last year, but he was only 6 months old at the time, so I don't know how he could remember that. But he does point up and at the area by the fireplace where we kept it… weird. Anyway, it's his new thing. Bob Bob boon sky!
In other Words He Says, we have BeeBows (boobies) and Distah (sister) and Momma (Daddy or Momma) and Mommy (mine). Other words are pretty normal, but these are the words that crack us up. Especially when he uses them together in a sentence. Momma, mommy momma bye! (Daddy, my momma is leaving and I said goodbye).
I feel like I'm learning a second language. If you all recall, with the exception of "Tickobah" Signa never tried to talk until she could do it perfectly. So all this gibberish is using parts of my brain long since tired out and washed up and hibernating.
